Today I am discussing how to really command attention and get your tweets retweeted to gain more followers and exposure to your twitter profile. There are certain strategies that need to be implemented when you really want to get some attention from tweeple (twitter users).

So how do we command attention from people on twitter? Here is a list of actions that you can take to get that attention, and the more you do this the more attention you will be commanding. However it is possible to over do it, so be careful not to be tweeting too many times in the day.

Commanding Attention from the Twittervers:

  1. Interesting Tweets
  2. Legendary Quotes
  3. Open-Ended Question
  4. Embedded Cameos
  5. Topics to Rally Around
  6. Stay away from Politics and Religion
  7. Get conversation from gurus – ex. Hey @scott_hughes691 great information on your latest twitter blog post (people will usually respond to @ replies getting you noticed by their followers, some of which will jump over to follow you as well)

For some really great free twitter training register for this free webinar that teaches you how to get followers, command attention on twitter and earn $5,000 per month on autopilot using Twitter – Free Twitter Training Webinar

Try and keep your tweets under 120 characters this allows enough room for your followers to retweet your tweets and make them viral.

Get Followers on Twitter (part 3)

Today we are going to talk about my third and final method of generating followers on twitter. I have wrote these in the order that I like and use them. My favorite method by far is the Guru method then the FOF method and lastly the “Feeder” method.

The feeder method is very simple, and similar to our other two methods. Except this time we are not going to find people using our twitter account. We are going for what are known as the “Feeders” of twitter. These are the people that have over 100,000 and up to 1 million twitter followers. We are going to use their presence on twitter to better build our presence.
Ready?…Great lets get started:
Head over to Twitterholic.com, and you will see the top 100 twitterers by sorted by followers. Now we want to find what are known as “feeders” a feeder is basically what we do. We want to feed our follower account with other peoples followers. Feeders are people that actively use twitter as opposed to a non-feeder, would be your people that use the media to get followers. For example if you look at the top twitterers on the list you will see Ashton Kutcher, Ellen DeGeneres, Britney Spears and CNN, they have all used the media to gain a mass amount of twitter followers. These are known as primas and we do not want to use primas to grow our twitter followers.
What you want to do is click the “friends” column to sort by number of friends. When you do this you will still see that the top 7 – 10 people on twitter are primas, but once you get down below the top 10 you will start to see the friends and follower numbers come more revelent to each other. We are looking for people who have more friends than followers. For example Perry Belcher is a feeder, he is following more people than what is following him. That means he is using the feeder method. Now Perry is a feeder so he would be a good candidate to use to get more followers.
The next thing you want to do is capture their twitter name, you can either write it down or click him to open his twitter page. Once you have his twitter page open, hover your mouse over his latest tweet and to the right you will see a faint star appear, click that. Clicking the star saves that tweet in your favorites, we don’t really care what the tweet was about, we are just basiclly putting him in our favorites so we can come back to him and follow his followers.
You will want to find at least 10 “feeders” to feed off of. That way you are following your alloted 200 people everyday. By doing this method you are going to get followed back, that is what we want right? We want more followers, it is a good bet that most of the people that a feeder followers are already following them back because we can compare those two numbers on twitterholic.com. I hope I haven’t confused too much by using follower and following, if you need help leave me a comment and I will contact you by email.
Moving on, lets go to your twitter account and when you login in you will see on the right 4 links, Home, @yourID, Direct Messages and Favorites. Guess what? If you click on favorites it will bring up all the “feeders” you just saved from twitterholic. Now use your scroll button to open each of them in a new tab. Then just go through click their followers link and follow their most recent followers, only follow thier first page of recent followers.
Ok, that is the feeder method. Now doing this method will not get you targeted followers, but it will increase you follower numbers very quickly and get you exposed to more people using twitter.
A quick tip: Do not follow more than 200 people per day. Doing so can get your account suspended by twitter, granted chances are you account will only be suspended for a week, we all know that taking a week off when trying to build your business or your list can set you back far more than a weeks worth of work.
Keep checking back often, I am adding more twitter  training all time, if you are not following me on twitter then by all means follow me on twitter, and be sure to tweet this post to all your tweeple to help them out, just use the “tweet this”  buttons at the top or bottom of this post, thanks for reading. If this helped you or you have a topic you would like me to discuss leave me a comment at the bottom of this post and I will be glad to help you.

Getting Followers on Twitter (part 1)

This is the first part of a three part series. There are three main ways to get followers on twitter. Depending on what you main purpose for using twitter and what level you twitter account is at will determine which one is best for you.
The three methods are:
  1. The Guru Method
  2. FOF Method
  3. Prima Method
Today we will discuss the “Guru Method” of getting followers on twitter, I am sure if you have been reading or studying how to get followers then you have run across this method of getting followers.
The guru method is fairly simple, but there is a certain method to using it so that you stay in good standings with twitter and don’ t get your account suspended. I don’t know about you but I would be lost with out my twitter account lol.
So basiclly you want to execute the guru method of getting followers you simply follow the people that are following the “gugus” in whatever niche you may be in. So how do we find gurus? The first thing you can do it go to twitter and search using the “find people” search, which is found at the top of the twitter homepage once you log in
Then you can simply type a word into the search box and find people that have that keyword in their name. For example I did a search for “social media” and came up with a ton of people that have the words “social media” in their twitter username. Now some of these are not going to be your “gurus” but chances are there are some people following them that are definitely interested in social media.
Another site to use it twellow.com it allows you to use a search term, again like “social media” and find people that have used that term in their twitter profile, it will also give you the number of people following each person that shows up in the search results.
What I will normally do is find around 10 – 15 people I think will have followers that might be interested in me and what I have to offer and click the star that appears next to their latest tweets. This “saves” them into my favorites link on my twitter account. Once a day, usually in the morning, I will go and load all of them in separate tabs using Firefox. Once they are all loaded I go through and click “followers” on each of them, then I will simply follow everyone on their first page of followers. If you do this with 10 people every day, you will be following 200 more people every day. Chances are around 50% – 65% of all those people will follow you back. Giving you more than 100 new followers everyday.
Keep doing that everyday and you will have around 1500 – 2000 followers in less than a week. Once you are following 2000 people you will have hit the inevitable twitter wall. Twitter will only allow you to follow 2000 people until your followers are at 90% of the amount of people you are following. Meaning for you to follow more than 2000 people you need to have at least 1900 followers. Well the good news is there are several sites that allow you to unfollow people that are not following you back, my favorite is Huitter.com, go there and use their mutuality tool and unfollow anyone who is not following you back. You only need to do this once a week, or as needed to get your 1900 followers, do not follow and unfollow the same day, meaning if you followed people this morning, do not use Huitter and unfollow on the same day, doing that will get your account suspended by Twitter.
Ok well that is pretty much it for the “guru” method of getting twitter followers, stay tuned for part 2 where we talk about the FOF method. If you found this interesting or know someone who might, click the retweet button found either on the top or below this post,  and thanks for reading.
