1. Twollo.com – Twollo will auto-follow people based on keywords that you specify. They offer a free account where you are limited to 2 keywords and limited speed of following, and paid accounts come with a 4 day free trial, after that you pay per month per different amounts of keywords.
2. SocialOomph – This is a very cool service that allows you to schedule tweets, auto DM your new followers and so much more. The basic account is free, and they have a couple of paid accounts that offer more features if you need them.
3. TwitterFeed.com – Twitterfeed is tool that will allow some auto tweets to be sent to your twitter timeline. What you do here is create an alert with google using a keyword related to your niche and get the RSS link from it. Then you simply give the feed and your twitter credentials to twitterfeed and anytime google finds new links using those keywords they will autotweet it to your timeline.

Use each of these tools with your twitter account for some very easy and very basic automation. Don’t use them exclusively, you still need to do manual tweets and show that you are a real person. To be successful with twitter you need to be social, and physically interact with your followers, keep them up to date on the latest news in your niche.
