Using Twitter to drive traffic is one of the best uses for Twitter. Twitter to me is a huge marketing channel, whether I am marketing an affiliate product, my own product or my blog. I use Twitter to get thousands of hits each and every month. There are several ways of using Twitter to get traffic, there is a little trick to actually going viral with your tweets.

It’s easy to get a few hundred clicks per day using Twitter, but how do you get people to actually retweet your stuff and take action? That is the real key to Twitter. If you want people to retweet your stuff you there are a few things you need to do make this happen:

1. Be socialable – Respond to people that @reply or DM you on Twitter
2. Tweet Interesting Links – Not all of your tweets will get retweeted. Out of the 20 or more tweets I send everyday, only 1 or 2 will go somewhat viral. Make sure your tweets are niche related and are interesting to your target market.
3. Tweet Niche Related Quotes – I have heard good and bad about tweeting quotes. I have personally had several quotes get retweeted.
4. Tweet Videos – Videos go viral really quick on Twitter. If you are into making your own videos, then be sure and tweet a link to it a couple of times the day the video is published.

Don’t expect all your tweets to get retweeted and go viral. Don’t even expect all of your “best” tweets to go viral. Your followers will pick and choose which one of your tweets they will retweet to their followers. Don’s get discouraged if you don’t get retweeted everyday. Just be sure to continue to tweet interesting news, blog posts and videos, and some of your tweets will take off.
